In this month’s Scholars Spotlight, we caught up with AndCo Consulting intern Abigail to learn more about her experience with Elevation Scholars and the role faith plays in her life.
Scholars: How has being an Elevation Scholar impacted your life so far?
Abigail: These past five years with Elevation have opened so many doors for me. Elevation has given me the support and inspiration needed to excel in my academics and my community. Elevation guided me during college applications, they helped me with exams, and most importantly they’ve provided me with a family. Every student and staff in Elevation is deeply appreciated by each other and I can feel the warmth. I’m grateful for them. They’ve been there for me when I needed them and even when I didn’t know I needed help.
Scholars: What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned about yourself through your Elevation Scholars journey?
Abigail: Elevation has taught me that anything is possible. Seeing how much they’ve grown, where students are heading to and where they’ve been allows me to know that there are no limits in life. No matter your race, gender, or nationality, as long as we put in the work and understand that we can reach as high as we want, it is enough for me to be diligent in life.
Scholars: What impact do you hope to make on your family and/or community through your involvement with Elevation Scholars?
Abigail: I hope to inspire others. Elevation has inspired me to go farther in life and I hope I can be an example of what hard work and faith can do. In the future, I hope to help future Elevation students have the same opportunities I had.
Scholars: What or who keeps you motivated during life’s most difficult times?
Abigail: From an early age, I’ve been taught to trust God. Therefore, during life’s most difficult times, I maintain my trust in God and hold his hand stronger.
