OUR STORIES. THeiR STORIES.
Rewarding extraordinary students with the college opportunities they have earned

Meet Revel Lubin: Central Floridian of the Year finalist and 1st Elevation Scholar

Oak Ridge Senior Class President, University of Florida Hall of Fame recipient and  Yale Master of Divinty Graduate, Revel Lubin is the inaugural recipient of The Elevation Scholars Award. Revel Lubin is illustrative of our belief that talent is distributed across the economic spectrum and that with grit, hard work and intellectual curiosity, anything is possible. Orphaned at age 11, Revel’s journey to becoming the person who was described as “the heartbeat of Oak Ridge High School” is humbling and inspiring.

More About Revel’s Story

Meet Edna Ulysee: Fearless, Natural Born Leader, and An Elevation Scholar

Edna may very well be the next Condoleezza Rice. Smart, savvy and a born leader, she knows where she wants to go, and everyone who interacts with her knows this to be true. Evans High School 2018 graduate and Wake Forest University Alumnus, she exhibits an intense desire to learn new things and adventurously enjoys all she does. Her sights are set on international relations- such a choice might be the result of her being the third child of immigrant parents combined with a keen interest in the state of our world.

Meet Laura Alhasnawi: Courageous, Determined, and a True Scholar

Laura is a 2018 graduate from Colonial High School and current Boston University Medical Science Graduate student. Described for her quiet strength, she was a leader in her Cambridge Program and served as the President for Beta Club. She speaks up and holds positions even when she is alone or in the minority and she does it with grace and quiet strength. Her twin passions for art and science spring from deep in her soul. A true scholar, she is happiest when involved in scientific research. Holding a dual BA in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Neuro Science from Wake, we’re confident she’ll be among one of our first doctors creating change for the good.

I can truly say that the best part of being in this program is the support system and advising team because they always have my best interest in mind and they have and continue to, help me make decisions that allow me to excel in all of my endeavors.

Kierra Law Orlando High School Senior

I didn’t just go on a college trip and explore two campuses- I made connections with the other scholars in the process.

Nick Johnson Orange County High School Senior

To me ‘Elevation’ means ‘opportunity’. This program open doors; allows for you to get to know people, make connections and network. Most important to help me reach my potential and get me to where I want to be.

Tina Nguyen Orlando High School Senior

Things I never expected to learn from coaching were understanding personality types and my own personality. Equally important, I learned how to meet new people, to engage in conversation with others, and how to sell myself.

I was able to improve my essay writing skills, create new connections with different people and I was able to help other students younger than me get prepared for college.

Overall, great theme with lots of features!
Hope, some will be added with next updates, like – dropcaps, maybe dynamic gradient backgrounds. But still, great job guys!

Very handy to show new doctors what meds I’m currently taking, plus frequency and dosages! Without having to carry all my pill bottles with me…
